What I'm Grateful For

I'm keeping a THaNkFuL list...to help celebrate the holiday.
One blessing for each day of the month.
I'm about two weeks behind.
So, I'll be playing catch-up today.
These are not in any particular order--just what comes to mind first.
1. Snow--the wet kind that's yummy to eat.
2. Homemade Chocolates--I'm looking for to Mom's in a couple of weeks.
3. Hot Showers--no explanation needed.
4. Foot Rubs--ditto.
5. Washing Machines--you don't appreciate it until it stops working.
6. Music--Christmas and patriotic are my favorite.
7. Good Friends--those you don't have to wear make-up for.
8. Pizza--hot and cheesy and spicy pepperoni.
9. Bottled Applesauce--that's today's project: canning it.10. Modern Medicine--sudafed, epidurals, advil.
11. Family--of course. Should have been #1.
12. Cars--especially 4WD on winter roads. Think of pioneers.
13. Heater/Air Conditioning--Again, think of the pioneers.

Costumes

For "Crazy Hair Day" at middle school.
She loves her big brother.
Is he the princess's guard or prince?
She quickly stuffed her mouth with all she good.
Sisters ... posing.
We had fun with the Star Trek crew,
a clone trooper, a princess and a doggie
(boy--that costume sure has got a lot of miles on it).

HEROES

At the elementary school,
it's SAY NO TO DRUGS week.
Today they're supposed to dress up like Heroes.
So we had fun going through the Halloween costume box
and coming up with these ideas this morning after breakfast.
Our oldest is in middle school
(so he didn't wear a costume to school),
but he got in on the action this morning too.
(His photo is last.)
He's an ARMY guy. A real hero.
All of our military are true heroes.
They defend us and fight for our freedom.
Zorro.
I'm hoping he can see:)
Davy Crockett or Daniel Boone.
I'm so glad someone was willing to dress up in this costume.
It's one I made years ago and it's held up well.
Ben Franklin.
And believe it or not he was so excited to wear this costume.
I'm just telling you this because it doesn't look like it from the picture.
He's posing.
Doesn't he look intelligent?
