THuMPer'S RuLE
Okay, so now I've got guiltsince I complained about my kids yesterday.
Complained about them to all of you. OOPS!
I really do love them.
Honestly, I do.
I should have done what I tell my kids to do.
And I need to remember ThUMpeR's RuLE:
If you can't say anything nice,
don't say anything at all!
I should have kept my mouth zipped
(or typing fingers silent) yesterday.
And I really do need to implement
"Come What May and Love It." (E. Wirthlin)
I'll do better today. I promise.

GoINg CoMPLeteLY BaTty
We love them more than life itself, will do anything for them, pray for them,
and go to bed exhausted each night from our efforts on their behalf.
And the Catch-22 is that we love them,
BUT can't stand them half the time.
Well, not half of the time. Occasionally.
Some days more than others.
But today has been OnE of THoSe MoRNinGs.
Here's my list of complaints.
The reasons for my temporary iNsANiTy.
(And we haven't had lunch yet.)
1. Spitting
2. Kicking
3. Pushing
4. Tattletelling
5. Crying
6. Fighting
7. Throwing Food
8. Whining
9. Hitting
10. Incessant (Loud and High) Singing
11. Disobedience
12. Complaints about Breakfast (Spit Out Food)
13. Blueberries in the Carpet
14. Dumped Diapers
15. Crayon on the Walls and Floor
16. More Tattletelling
17. Torn BooksI know that for some of you this sounds like one of the "good old days"
and you're going to tell me how much you miss "those days"
and to enjoy them while they last.
Or how you wish you could go back and just enjoy the moment.
I'm not sure I believe you.
You didn't feel that way while you were living through it. Admit it.
Okay, I'll stop complaining and get back to work.
Three kids are waiting for lunch and two baskets of laundry want to be folded.
I guess Elder Wirthlin's last talk "Come What May and Love It"
seems an appropriate pep talk for this floundering mom.
I'm smiling.
It's a little forced, but I'm trying.

Bear Den Leader
I just got the calling I thought I'd have years ago (because I am the mother of four boys):
DEN LEADER.
(You're jealous, aren't you?)
My oldest is done with Cub Scouts,
but I've got one who will be a Bear at the end of the week.
I'll be his den leader.
And I've got another boy who will join Cub Scouts this summer.
My fourth son is still three years away from all the fun.
Wish me luck!
It looks fun in "Follow Me, Boys." Here's hoping . . .

Only One to Go!
Our two-year-old is pOTty-tRaINeD.
(I think I hear a choir of angels singing.)
It took four tries . . . but once she got the concept,
she practically trained herself.
What happened is this:
When I did my WalMart shopping in December,
I decided that I wasn't going to buy her any more diapers.
I bought a bag of pull-ups instead.
And what do you know?
She was fine with the idea.
(I was dumbfounded.)
She loves wearing her big girl underwear.
She keeps them dry during naps and
her pull-ups dry at night.
Miracle of Miracles. Hallelujah!
It was December's major accomplishment
and I didn't have to do anything other than provide Smarties as a reward.
This means I only have one more child in diapers. It's sweet.
Maybe she'll be potty-trained by the end of the year, too.
Then I'll be all done with diapers.
The "DIAPER DADS" video on the sidebar is dedicated to
all of us MOMS who deal with diapers on a daily basis.
