Cub Scouts

This is our dad and our scouts.
Our dad helped the two cub scouts create some awesome cars.
The boys sure had fun with dad
cutting, sanding, painting and decorating them.

Some of these photos are blurry. We need a new camera for Christmas.
This is our Bear cub scout--the second one from the right--with his Den leader and part of his den. This is our Webelos scout with two of his cousins, after pack meeting. In October, we had an Egg Drop for Pack Meeting. The boys packed raw eggs in shoe boxes and dropped them from a snorkel truck--60 feet in the air. Our Webelos scout is the one in the green coat. At the same pack meeting, our Webelos scout earned his Arrow of Light, the highest cub scout award. We are proud of him and his hard work. This is our Bear scout in the snorkel truck. He's the one WITHOUT the coat one. It was freezing! I don't know what he was thinking.

In September, we had the coolest Pinewood Derby ever.
My cub scouts are the two on the left, with glowing eyes.
My oldest son is one of our pack's Den Chiefs.
He is a Star scout. He is the one on the right.
The cub scouts sure do look up to the boy scouts.
These are the two racers with their pinewood derby cars.
The blue car took first place overall with an average time of 186 mph.
The gold car took third place overall.
They were smoking!
This is me, cubmaster, with a couple of my scouts.
WE LOVE SCOUTS.

Another Great Football Day

Son #4 had the first game.
He scored a running touchdown.
He's fast. And good at getting flags.
And a sure thing for a great catch. The cheerleaders.
I think Son #2 and #3 are goofing for the photo.
Or the mouthguards are morphing their lips.
They each had touchdowns in the game.
Son #2 had an interception runback for a TD.
This is Son#1 scoring his second TD of the game.
You'll notice he has one shoe off.
A defender pulled it off at the beginning of his run,
but he didn't let that slow him down.
It was at least a 20-30 yard run.
His first TD was another huge run where he broke a couple of tackles
and then outran the whole defense. He's quick!
I love football Saturdays.
There's only one more week of them--I HOPE!!!

Saturday

We had three football games to attend on Saturday.
I only got photos of two of them.
In the game that I missed taking photos at,
my son got several catches, touchdowns and extra points receptions.
We'll get some photos next week of him.
My son is the center.
He caught a great catch for a BIG first down.
These are my fellow cheerleaders.
Although they seem more interested in snacks than FB.
This one got a huge touchdown run on a sweep.
He's very fast.
Dad is the coach.
He's giving the boys a post-game talk after their win.
Dad and I are the cheerleaders at our oldest son's game.
Again, he played all over the place: fullback, corner, and kick-off return.
Here he's positioned as a fullback.
He got some great runs in the game.
He's loving his first year of grid kid.
Then we went home for lunch
and soon after the boys left with their dad to watch the BYU game.
Here's a Friday evening a couple weeks ago.
The boys have been hauling and moving sawdust.
They kept at, even though it took them toooooo long!

Labor Day at the Riot Zone

He took the middle of the lane.
He didn't want anyone passing him. All of the kids are at the top!
This is our speed racer.
She was a natural.
I was amazed it was her first time driving.
But she did slow down considerably after being told
that they weren't bumper cars. I'm not sure who the winner was,
but Dad deserved a medal for PATIENCE.
Stitches under the chin after a nasty crash in a go-kart.
Thank goodness Dad can do that too.
The Space Shuttle was a favorite. He made it to the top of both "rock mountains."
My other speed racers.

The paddle boats were fun for the girls.
As were the Inflatables.
This is the same race as his crash and cut face.
BUMPER BOATS!
Need I say more?
