Santa's Visit

It was Monday night, in the middle of FHE,
when we heard a knock on our door.
Santa surprised us with a visit right before Christmas.
As you can tell from the photos,
we were all dressed up in costumes
because we were in the middle of activing out the Nativity. I was so glad she didn't cry.
She sang, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," all month long.
This boy gave Santa a different list
than the letter he sent to the North Pole.
And it was completely different
from what he told him at our ward Christmas party.
This one is shy.
She wouldn't look at Santa and her face turned pink!
I think this one was wondering
if was on the Naughty or Nice List.
Our oldest couldn't remember anything he wanted for Christmas.
I think he said snow boots,
which never made a list for Santa before then.
This one added new items to his list.
Luckily the elves knew about his changes beforehand.
So, my suggestion to Santa is this:
when you come for a visit on Christmas week,
don't ask what they want...
just ask if they've been naughty or nice. :)
WE LOVE YOU SANTA.
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT.
PS--Too bad I didn't get a photo of our dad in his Nativity costume...
it would have made you laugh out loud.
And I would have made you laugh too,
in my angel costume. :)

We had a BIRTHDAY

Someone had a birthday on Dec 1.
He is 7-Years-Old.
We love you, big guy!
Sorry to be late blogging about the big day.
Now he's got a BYU FB uniform and a Miami Dolphins FB uniform.
The kid loves football.
His older brother is jealous.
He wanted this FB uniform for Christmas.
We told him to wait and see what came on Christmas....
Although you can't tell from this photo,
he loved the Banana Cream Pie that he got for his Birthday Treat.
It's practically impossible to get a photo with all the kids
looking and smiling at the camera...
and without anyone moving...
and without anyone hamming it up/posing for the photo.

Halloween Photos from October

Here they are...a couple of months late.
We had fun carving pumpkins for FHE.
Since Halloween was on Sunday, we didn't trick or treat.
The kids each got a bag of their favorite candy...
to eat or to swap with each other
while watching "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken"
and "Blackbeard's Ghost" on Halloween Eve
(which was also Stake Conference,
one of the other reasons we didn't dress-up and go out).

It was a blast.
And we had our own brand of Halloween.

Thanksgiving

Before we went to Grandma's house for dinner,
we goofed around a little.A couple of us girls .
She now likes to pose.
Visiting with Aunt Non at Grandpa's.
We watched a lot of BYU football--
to the boys' and men's delight.
The BYU channel was playing BYU v Utah games
from seasons past.
Of course, they only showed the games BYU won...
which made it that much funner.
With Aunt Carol.
Eating some delicious pie.
We had apple, banana cream, and pumpkin cream cheese.
They were all delicious!
Cousins playing together.
Eating pie and watching BYU football.
Relaxing after dinner, watching football.
Cousins playing War.
Cousins playing Chutes and Ladders.
With Grandpa.
This was her first stop when we got there.
With Aunt Non.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!
We wish we could have seen everyone over the holiday.

Cub Scouts

This is our dad and our scouts.
Our dad helped the two cub scouts create some awesome cars.
The boys sure had fun with dad
cutting, sanding, painting and decorating them.

Some of these photos are blurry. We need a new camera for Christmas.
This is our Bear cub scout--the second one from the right--with his Den leader and part of his den. This is our Webelos scout with two of his cousins, after pack meeting. In October, we had an Egg Drop for Pack Meeting. The boys packed raw eggs in shoe boxes and dropped them from a snorkel truck--60 feet in the air. Our Webelos scout is the one in the green coat. At the same pack meeting, our Webelos scout earned his Arrow of Light, the highest cub scout award. We are proud of him and his hard work. This is our Bear scout in the snorkel truck. He's the one WITHOUT the coat one. It was freezing! I don't know what he was thinking.

In September, we had the coolest Pinewood Derby ever.
My cub scouts are the two on the left, with glowing eyes.
My oldest son is one of our pack's Den Chiefs.
He is a Star scout. He is the one on the right.
The cub scouts sure do look up to the boy scouts.
These are the two racers with their pinewood derby cars.
The blue car took first place overall with an average time of 186 mph.
The gold car took third place overall.
They were smoking!
This is me, cubmaster, with a couple of my scouts.
WE LOVE SCOUTS.
